Leveraging the Arduino platform and AI-assisted coding, this eight-week course is structured around two Scrum phases. The course is designed to strengthen students' creativity, collaboration, and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills. Cockroaches are highly responsive creatures that rely heavily on environmental sensing. When exposed to sudden light, the approach of a person, or changes in their surroundings, they react instantly by fleeing. Phase 1: Inspired by this stimulus-response behavior, students are tasked with designing an interactive cockroach installation that demonstrates an escape response using simple sensors and mechanical structures. Phase 2: Each team's cockroach will join those created by other groups, forming a family unit of three. Students will then design a miniature world in which they coexist, including its environment, ecosystem, and the larger life forms that inhabit and interact with their shared habitat.
